Who we are

Simmer is a recipe-intelligence app made by SimmerAI ("we", "us"). This page covers the pre-launch marketing site at simmerai.co and its waitlist. The in-app privacy practices are presented inside the app at submission.

What we collect when you join the waitlist

When you join the waitlist we collect: the email address and optional first name you enter; the time of signup; your browser's user-agent string, from which we derive a coarse device type, operating system, and browser (for example, mobile / iOS / Safari); and approximate location derived by our edge network (Cloudflare) from your IP address — your country, region/state, city, postal code, and time zone — together with network metadata (your internet provider network number and the data center that served you) used to tell genuine signups from automated traffic. This location is approximate and IP-derived; we do not collect GPS or precise coordinates, we do not store your IP address, and we do not use cookies or tracking scripts — it is computed server-side from your single signup request. We ask for no other personal information on this site.

Where your email is stored

Your waitlist email is stored in our own Supabase database (a managed PostgreSQL service), in a table named waitlist_signups, which remains our first-party record. To send the one-time launch announcement, we use Resend (resend.com) as our email delivery processor — at send time your email address is shared with Resend solely to deliver that message. Cloudflare provides our Pages/Workers hosting and Turnstile bot-protection services. Cloudflare processes the signup request and your IP address to serve this page, verify the Turnstile challenge, and derive the approximate location described above; we do not store your IP address.

SimmerAI uses Resend to send waitlist confirmation and launch emails, with open/click tracking. A one-way hashed record of unsubscribed, bounced, and complained addresses is retained to honor opt-outs even after account deletion.

How we use it

We use your email for one purpose only: to notify you when Simmer launches on the App Store and Google Play. We do not sell or rent your email or send marketing unrelated to the launch. Every launch email includes a one-click unsubscribe link; once you unsubscribe we suppress your address and will not email it again.

Why we collect it (legal basis)

We use this metadata to understand which regions and devices our pre-launch interest comes from, so we can plan the launch. For visitors in the EU/UK this processing rests on our legitimate interest in planning a product launch (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); we minimize the data — we keep location at roughly city/region level, never store your IP, and never combine it with tracking. For California residents this is "personal information" we collect as described; we do not sell or share it. You can object to this processing, or ask us to delete your data, at any time (see below).

Retention & your choices

We keep your waitlist record until launch notifications are complete, or 24 months, whichever comes first, after which we delete the waitlist. You may access, correct, delete, or object to any of this data — including the location and device metadata — by emailing [email protected]; we delete your waitlist row and its location/device metadata from our database. Email message and delivery-event rows linked to the signup are deleted by cascade. To honor unsubscribe, bounce, and complaint opt-outs, we may retain a one-way hashed record of the email address as described in the email-delivery paragraph above.
